Bacon & Sausage Chaffle

Chaffles are a low carb favorite for good reason—they’re versatile, satisfying, and packed with flavor. My Bacon & Sausage Chaffle recipe takes this classic concept to the next level by combining savory breakfast staples into one portable, delicious creation. It’s made with an egg, almond flour, mozzarella cheese, crispy bacon, savory sausage, and a hint of Tabasco for a little kick.

This recipe is perfect for busy mornings when you need a quick, hearty breakfast that will keep you fueled. The combination of bacon and sausage ensures every bite is rich and flavorful, while the almond flour and cheese create a bread-like texture that makes these chaffles ideal for on-the-go eating.

If you’re new to chaffles, they’re waffles made with low carb ingredients, often cheese and eggs, instead of traditional flour. You can make them using any waffle maker, but for the best results, I recommend the Dash Mini Waffle Maker. Its compact size creates the perfect chaffle shape, and it’s affordable and easy to use. You can also double the recipe and cook in a traditional Belgian waffle maker.

Endless Ways to Enjoy Bacon & Sausage Chaffles

  • Breakfast Sandwich: Add a fried egg or avocado between two chaffles for a filling breakfast sandwich.
  • Snack on the Go: Pack them up for a portable snack when you’re out and about.
  • Make-Ahead Meal: Prepare in advance and reheat in the toaster for an easy breakfast all week.

Tips for the Best Chaffles

  • Always spray your waffle maker with cooking spray to prevent sticking.
  • Be sure not to overfill your waffle maker—this recipe yields two mini chaffles or one belgian-sized chaffle.
  • Let the chaffles cool slightly to crisp up before enjoying.
