The name “chaffle” is a clever blend of “cheese” and “waffle,” and yes, it’s exactly that—a waffle made from cheese! This Low Carb Garlic Bread Chaffle recipe was one of my first creations, and it remains my absolute favorite.

You can make chaffles using any waffle maker, but I recommend the Dash Mini Waffle Maker. It’s the perfect size, easy to use, budget-friendly, and takes up minimal counter space. You can find it at stores like Walmart or Target.

  1. Grease Your Waffle Maker
    Always spray with cooking spray (I use avocado oil spray) to prevent sticking.
  2. Don’t Overfill
    For the Dash Mini, split the recipe to cook each waffle individually. Using a Belgian-style waffle maker? Double the recipe to make a full-sized waffle.
  3. Cook Time
    Chaffles typically cook in 3–7 minutes. They’re done when the waffle maker light goes off and they’re golden brown, solid, and dry to the touch.
  4. Let Them Cool
    Chaffles crisp up as they cool. Don’t worry if they feel floppy straight out of the waffle maker!
  5. Clean Up While Warm

Ingredients

  • ½ cup mozzarella cheese shredded (about 2.2 oz)
  • 1 tbsp almond flour super fine
  • 1 tbsp parmesan cheese grated
  • 1 egg (I used Eggland's Best)
  • ½ tsp garlic powder
  • ¼ tsp Italian seasoning

Instructions

  • Preheat waffle maker.
  • Combine all ingredients in small bowl.
  • Spread half the mixture into prepared mini waffle maker. Cook 5-7 minutes until chaffle is dry and golden brown.
  • Remove from waffle maker and let cool for several minutes. Repeat for second chaffle.
